FISH OR FIGHT

Photography

In Bukom, people are born into a narrow set of outcomes, shaped by class, geography, and necessity. Fishing is the inheritance, boxing the alternative.

This work looks at the moment where expectation turns into decision. The daily labour of the sea sits alongside the promise of the ring, where discipline, pain, and risk offer a possible way out. Most will never leave, but the hope is real enough to shape lives, bodies, and time itself.

The photographs hold that tension, between what is given and what is chased, between endurance and belief, where the future is imagined long before it is earned.
