ESSEX

Photography

These photographs were made across Essex, in places shaped by infrastructure, legacy, and routine. Power lines, container yards, coastal edges, and scuppered Second World War concrete barges sit alongside everyday life.

The work looks at how people occupy these environments, often quietly and with acceptance. Moments of waiting, passing through, or pausing appear against systems that are fixed, inherited, and largely unquestioned.

Rather than defining the place, the photographs observe how life continues within it, and how people adapt to conditions already in place.
